In the past I’ve talked a lot about what you need to get started RVing (find all our gear guides here), as well as why it’s important to take a shakedown trip, how to RV with children, and how to tow a car with your RV by yourself, and so on.

But what if you don’t have an RV or travel trailer yet? If that’s one of your goals, but funding is an issue, I can help you achieve that goal. We also had a goal of owning a travel trailer for a number of years before we actually bought our first trailer. We were finally able to make it happen by using one of the techniques I talk about in the Side Hustle Challenge. The Side Hustle Challenge is a free 7 day email course that will arrive in your inbox and help you find or make the money you need to achieve your travel goals.

During the last couple weeks I’ve talked about setting goals and finding your motivation so you can achieve your travel goals and facing the fears that might be keeping you from dreaming big, trying new things, or just starting down the path to achieving your goals.

So let’s talk about the practical side of achieving your goals (ie, MONEY).

Travel goals, as well as many other types of goals, require money. If you’re like us, you’re not swimming in extra cash. We won’t ever receive an inheritance from a rich relative: we both come from large families, so that’s never going to happen. And we haven’t won the lottery. This will also never happen, as we don’t play the lottery. There’s too many other, more reliable, ways of growing our bank account.

Working hard, working overtime, and starting side hustles are helping us get closer to achieving our goal of full-time travel. Not sure how to get a side hustle of your own? As I mentioned earlier, the concepts I share in the Side Hustle Challenge have helped us achieve our goal of purchasing our first travel trailer. We used the same concepts when we bought our Class C RV. And we continue to use them as we work towards our other travel goals.

Did you know that a side hustle can help you earn the money to buy your first RV or to do more traveling? Find out how to pick the right side hustle for you at ouradventuringfamily.com.

How exactly can the Side Hustle Challenge help me achieve my goals of RV ownership, more travel, or whatever it is I’d like to do?

I’m glad you asked!

First off, a side hustle is a job you get on the side of your regular job. A side hustle can help you bring in the extra money you need to achieve your financial goals. Depending on the side hustle you pick, it could even become your full-time job if you want it to. This is especially beneficial if you want to travel full-time but you can’t do your current job remotely (this is the situation we’re in with my husband’s job).

As you complete each day’s exercise, I’ll first help you identify ways you can earn more money at your current job (if you have one) or identify a part-time job that will work for stay-at-home parents (it that’s your situation). Then we move on to talking about the different kinds of side hustles and which type will be the best fit for you. Then we talk about some of the things to consider when deciding on a side hustle, as well as the costs associated with your side hustle.

By the time you’ve finished the Side Hustle Challenge, you’ll have identified any additional income you can make at your current job as well as narrowed down the type of side hustle you’d like to do to just one or two.

Once you have that info, you can get started on your side hustle journey and start working towards your travel goals.

Who is the Side Hustle Challenge for?

If you’re not afraid of working hard to achieve your goals, the Side Hustle Challenge is for you.

If you’re not afraid of sacrificing time, leisure activities, and sleep now for rewards later, the Side Hustle Challenge is for you.

On the other hand, if you don’t want to work to achieve your goals, the Side Hustle Challenge is not for you.

If you don’t want to sacrifice time, leisure activities, and sleep now for rewards later, the Side Hustle Challenge is not for you.

I won’t lie

Sometimes achieving your goals can be done in a short period, but other times they will take several years to accomplish. Patience is a necessary attribute. But if you’re willing to put in the time and effort now, you can reap the benefits later and have the life you’d rather be living.

We practice what I preach in the Side Hustle Challenge. I’m building online businesses while staying home with the kiddos and we maximize the income from my husband’s job. We wake up early, sometimes stay up late, and don’t get to do nearly as much adventuring as we’d like to right now. But we know that working hard and sacrificing our time and sleep now will enable us to reach our goal of full-time travel in the near future.

Sign up for the Side Hustle Challenge today, and start working towards your travel goals. I’m a stay-at-home mom of three who also homeschools, and if I can find the time to squeeze in a side hustle or two, you can too!
